Black Cottage Sauvignon Blanc is an intensely aromatic, lively, and brilliantly crisp white wine that captures the pure, energetic soul of Marlborough. Crafted by founder Dave Clouston and winemaker Sanna Stander, this flagship drop combines select fruit from the Wairau and Awatere Valleys. By fermenting the juice cool in stainless steel, Black Cottage captures a zesty, punchy profile that balances classic New Zealand tropical intensity with an elegant, mineral-driven finish.
Tasting Notes
  • Aroma: A lifted and incredibly expressive nose bursting with bright passionfruit, fresh gooseberry, crushed lime leaf, and a distinct herbal lift of tomato plant.
  • Palate: Vibrant and intensely flavourful. The palate explodes with juicy tropical fruits, green apple, and tangy citrus notes, underpinned by a chalky, flinty complexity.
  • Texture & Finish: Light-to-medium bodied with a clean, focused structure. A driving line of mouthwatering, crisp acidity cuts through the fruit core, leading to a long, bone-dry, and highly refreshing finish.
